I’m so excited to start a new series on my blog – Wedding Wednesday! I’ve noticed other blogger brides take this approach to sharing their wedding photos and videos and I definitely decided I wanted to do the same. First of all, because you get SO many wedding photos back, but second of all, because there are so many elements that make your wedding special and unique to you, so it feels better to split them up so they can have their own moment!
I decided to start with one of both Brent and I’s favorite elements of the Bodiford wedding because it involved so many of our loved ones; The Wedding Party! We put a lot of thought into the looks for our bridesmaids and groomsmen, and were so happy with the final outcome! Everything about their looks really tied in with our whole theme, while also complimenting the incredible people wearing them. Brent was especially excited to give the guys the opportunity to customize their suits and make them really special so that they would be excited to wear them again.
So, without further ado, here is our wedding party look reveal!
Getting Ready
I really wanted me girls to have matching robes to get ready in! I toiled for hours online trying to find the perfect robes for them that would go with the vibe of the day and our color scheme, and I was so excited to find these beauties from Tiare Hawaii. They are one-size which takes out the guessing game for 9 girls ranging from 5’1 and 5’9, and I absolutely loved the green and blue. I almost went with mauve pink, but blue is just more me!
For my robe, a went with this beautiful lace number from Girl and a Serious Dream. I figured my wedding day is definitely the time to splurge on beautiful lingerie, and this robe is so gorgeous I still wear it all the time.
The Bridesmaid and Flower Girls Dresses
Having been in many weddings myself, the process of choosing the bridesmaid dresses was a little easier than I thought it would be, but I was still overwhelmed by choices. I wanted something blue (both me and Brent’s favorite color) and needed the fabric to be seasonal-appropriate, but other than that I was open to so many ideas.
If you remember, last year I chose Bella Bridesmaids Charleston to be the store where I would choose. They have the biggest selection, and luckily, Bella Bridesmaids is a chain found all over, so my girls in Texas were able to easily pop in a store near them to find their size before ordering. I found the dresses thanks to them this time last year, but of course had to wait to share the exact style we went with! When I saw these beautiful slate blue Jenny Yoo dresses, I knew they were the ones! I loved the low neckline with mesh front (I wanted my girls to feel beautiful and a little sexy) and then choose just a slightly different cowl neckline for my sister to make her stand out as MOH.
For their accessories, I chose a simple pink and crystal drop earring from Lindsay Marie Design. She makes elegant and timeless pieces, and I love how I was able to customize them with the stone color of my choosing. I also wore one of her designs myself! These simple pearl and crystal studs.
A detail I was also really excited about were their custom and hand-painted clutches by my friend Laura Duke. Half were painted with champagne bottles and the other half blush and white abstract strokes. They were so festive and the girls really enjoyed having something special to use that night and to take home with them!
If you’ve been following me on Instagram for a while, you know how special my nieces are to me, so I wanted to make sure I made them feel extra special on our big day as flower girls. How sweet do they look in their dresses?? They love playing dress up more than anything, so I knew they would be so happy if they got to wear a fancy princess-type dress. I chose these from BHLDN and was shocked by how perfectly the colors matched my own dress. Making these kinds of choices online can be intimidating, but luckily the color on their website was completely true to how they looked in person. The little flower details on their sleeves were just so precious, and my contact at BHLDN helped me choose the right sizes so the growing little girls would fit into them by the time the wedding happened.
I wanted them to be comfortable too, so I went with little ballet slippers for their shoes and ballerina buns (they both do dance so I knew they’d be used to having their hair done like that and it would also be out of their pretty faces). We found the rose gold hairpieces at Hobby Lobby randomly!
I couldn’t be happier with how my girls looked on the wedding day. This face says it all, though. They could have been wearing anything and still made it the perfect day by being so wonderful. I love them all so much!!
The Groomsmen
Look at all these handsome guys! To be honest, I did not have much input in the groomsmen suits at all. I feel very lost when it comes to men’s fashion, so I didn’t want to be the one making the big choices! Luckily, Brent was really excited about the suits, and with the help of his friends at BP Skinner Clothiers, they came up with the coolest look for him and the guys. Really, y’all, I helped choose the grey and the tie color and that is IT!
Brent has been in many weddings himself, and he always liked buying his suit so he could wear it again, so he decided on custom suits for the guys. Boys are lucky, they can re-wear the same suit as many times as they want, and Brent has re-worn all the suits from weddings he’s been in. He met Brent Skinner of BP Skinner Clothiers through Carolina Gamecock connections, and has always gone to him for his nicer clothing needs, so he was an obvious choice for the wedding. Brent Skinner designs suits and jackets for many of the Gamecock players, as well as some NFL pros, so he really knows what he is doing and is up to date with the latest mens fashion trends.
His favorite thing about the suits was each guy was able to choose the fabric lining inside their jacket! He had tons of colors and patterns to choose from, and the guys got to pick colors for their favorite sports teams or whatever they wanted to fit their personality! They also far more customizable than the normal formalwear store. Brent Skinner would ask questions like if they were going to wear a watch so he could adjust the sleeve length, and they had the option to embroider their names inside their jackets as well. They turned out so great! The guys looked so sharp and I could tell they just felt good in them.
We have so much love for all the people in the photo! A huge thank you to them for making our big day so perfect, and to all the designers and brands who brought their wedding party looks together.
