For how crazy and busy my week has been, it’s only fitting that today’s Foodie Friday post features a quick little spot for delicious breakfast on the go. Sweet Belgium gained popularity in it’s original store on James Island (on the outskirts of downtown Charleston) for it’s yummy waffles and huge selection of toppings, and word apparently spread because they just opened up a second prime location on King Street downtown! I went with a classic combo of chocolate, whipped cream, and strawberries, while Nicole chose Nutella and strawberries. There were so many options for toppings, so I’ll definitely be making a trip back to try something else.
Also on their menu are adorable waffle donuts (you have to check out their website to get the picture because I would butcher the description). They are so cute and looked delicious, although I did not try them because the waffle on it’s own was so filling! A dozen would be such a cute idea for a party or something.
Add them to your list for a quick, yummy bite next time you’re walking down King Street. They’re worth checking out!
