In downtown Charleston, sorta on the Northern end of the peninsula, there is a gorgeous, dreamy place called Hampton Park. In the spring, it’s positively covered with gorgeous blooms and everyone is out taking a walk or riding their bikes and admiring the beauty. In the summer, though, it’s much less crowded for obvious reasons. It’s hot and there aren’t as many flowers in season, but I personally have found that it’s become my favorite time to visit. Everyone warned me about the hot and humid summers in Charleston, but no one ever mentioned how absolutely dreamy summer evenings are!
Summer days in Charleston, yes, are absolutely insanely hot and humid. Everyone is sweating like crazy and no one wants to be outside unless they’re on the beach or a boat. However, around 7:30pm the weather drops, and if you’re anywhere close to the water you can feel an amazing, cool breeze that feels just perfect! In Texas during the summer it’s hot and it stays hot all night until about dusk. For me, Charleston in the summer has been such a wonderful surprise, and I guess you don’t really appreciate it unless you’ve really experienced other places.
So, I have officially changed my shoot times to the evenings, and planned anything I want to do outdoors after 7:00pm, and it’s been amazing. Hampton Park is one of my favorite places to walk around. I shot two other outfits here so stay tuned for more views of this park!
