For today’s Foodie Friday post, I’m featuring a new Charleston Brewery on the block that totally stole my heart. Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company (a sister of Edmund’s Oast Restaurant) popped up this year and showed off their huge selection of draft beers and impressive menu items. It has already established itself as a “must-try” spot in Charleston for locals and tourists alike, and after my visit this week it’s easy to see why.
In my opinion, just as important as the menu is the atmosphere, and EOBC kills it in that area too. They love having live music (check out their Instagram to stay updated on the schedule), and they also have a Drag Brunch every third Sunday of the month (how fun is that!!), and trivia nights.

The Menu:
Everything on the menu looked so good to me, I wanted to try it all! Edmund’s Oast veteran chefs Geoff Marquardt and Johnny Singleton oversee the kitchen, which has a wood-fired brick oven and a Polish smokehouse. The menu items are casual yet unique and definitely a huge step up from your average bar food. My favorite item I tried on their menu by far was the Peach and Ricotta Pizza! Y’ALL! This was literally the best pizza I’ve had in my entire life, and I am going to make it back over there again to have another slice as soon as possible. Every day of the week except Tuesday they have their own menu, and on Tuesdays, Short Grain Food Truck comes and does a pop-up with their Japanese-inspired cuisine.
The brewery has over a dozen EOBC beers on tap, and also includes an area dedicated to extended non-sour or wild barrel-aging, and a sealed area for sour and wild fermentation (whoa beer talk!). In addition to their beers, they have a great selection of wine, creative specialty cocktails, and coffee. I tried the Tropical Margarita and it was amazing! I love when a brewery has more than beer. I personally am a beer-lover myself, but I know a lot of peeps out there who would rather grab a liquor drink or glass of wine.
Here are my menu recommendations:
–The Veggie Burger: Mozzarella, pepper jelly, pickled green tomatoes, and you can also add bacon and a fried egg! It’s so good, it’s not just for vegetarians.
–Peach and Ricotta Pizza: Fresh peaches, ricotta cheese, Calabrese, honey, and basil. This was definitely my favorite! I can’t resist a good peach dish.
-Homemade Hot Dog: (They’re famous for it!). Add chili, mustard, or onions.
-Crispy Potatoes: Get them bravas style!

The Space:
Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co. is located in the Pacific Box & Crate development at 1505 King Street, connected to Workshop, and is less than a mile from Edmund’s Oast restaurant and Edmund’s Oast Exchange. The taproom’s interior has a 65-foot bar featuring 26 taps of house-brewed beers, wines, and cocktails.
There is also patio seating overlooking the courtyard and neighboring businesses to take advantage of when the weather is nice (they do have fans, though, so when we were there at noon in the middle of summer it still wasn’t that bad outside). It’s also available to rent for special events! I can totally see this as a great place for a chill birthday dinner or weekly happy hour spot with co-workers. Plus, they have pinball machines. What’s better than that??
Be sure to add Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co. to your Charleston brewery list, they are definitely worth the stop! I think I might have just found my new regular spot 🙂
