Jumpsuit | Hat | Clutch | Sandals
It’s no secret that I love dresses. My closet is stocked full of dresses of every color, style, and length, and I wear them all the time. Why? Because they’re EASY. You have a single piece of clothing and *bam* you’ve got an outfit. All you need to add are the shoes and accessories to complete it, and that’s much easier than pairing a top and a bottom to go together.
Once I started experimenting more with jumpsuits and rompers, I realized that (duh) they’re just as easy to style as dresses. However, a wide leg jumpsuit can be a little trickier, so I came up with a few tips to help you style one perfectly every time.
#1 Pick Your Shoes Based on the Length
A wide leg jumpsuit like this one with a cropped length calls for heels, where one that’s floor length might be fine with flats. Even though jumpsuits usually make the legs seem longer, a cropped length can negate that, so heels will balance it back out. I also think that if the jumpsuit is floor length, you need to pick your shoes carefully so you don’t get the high water look.
#2 Choose Your Vibe
The great thing about jumpsuits is how versatile they can be. Any item of clothing that is tailored to your body (like a good jumpsuit should be) automatically makes you look polished and put together, so they’re easy to take from day to night. In my case for this outfit, all I have to do is lose the hat and I’m ready to go to dinner. So, chose the vibe you want to go for and accessorize it based on the occasion.
#3 Keep it Simple
Jumpsuits, as versatile and effortless as they can feel, can also often look overpowering. It’s important to pick just a few accessories carefully or you’ll risk look too busy (especially if it has a print like this one). Let the jumpsuit be the main event and don’t distract from its fabulousness with too many other things going on.
