Remember Hammitt? I’ve worn one of their bags before and couldn’t help but rave about the importance of investing in quality purses.
It’s true, I pretty much only wear designer bags, but not because I’m only into labels or something, it’s just because I know they’re going to last! I’m not very easy on my purses, when I like them I wear them ALL the time and if they start falling apart I get mad haha. I’ll find a large tote to bring to work and literally wear it every single day for a year or years (my first year at work it was my almond Rebecca Minkoff MAB tote and currently it’s my Kelly Wynne tote) and neither one have disappointed. I need a bag that can withstand all the crap my disorganized, ADD self throws in there, and that’s a lot of stuff.
I have learned over time that just because a bag is designer doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a quality bag, though. That’s also why I find designers I like and trust and keep buying from them (or working with them on collaborations, i.e. they gift me bags). If a company wants to send me something and I know they’re no good, I’ll say no, honestly. I’m not here to mislead anyone. So, obviously, I love working with Hammitt because I have 2 of their bags now and they are both amazing quality, you know as soon as you receive your package in the mail. They mail the bags in a fancy box inside the outside packaging and wrap it with care. Little touches like that are so important to me because I have had things mailed to be that are literally stuffed in a box that’s way too small and the items get damaged on the trip to me. That kind of thing will turn me off of a designer real quick. Don’t get me wrong, I would never complain about having things gifted to me, I always appreciate it and would never bad-mouth a company, but you won’t hear me write a whole blog raving about their quality, either.
So, in conclusion, if you want quality, you usually have to fork up a bit more than normal but in the end it’s always less than buying 5 crappy purses. It feels better too.
