It’s officially winter weather in Charleston, so I went on the hunt for the coziest spot in downtown to take shelter from the cold. I’m always looking for coffee shops and bakeries with delicious food that are also welcoming to people who want to post up and work for a few hours, and Bakehouse Bakery Cafe is definitely perfect for that. It’s such a warm and inviting space, and the community tables and cozy booths suggest you should sit down and stay a while.
I ordered the spinach and mozzarella quiche, a s’mores bar treat, and an iced (probably should have ordered hot with it being 55 degrees outside) peppermint mocha latte, and it was all delicious. I’m picky about my coffee, and Bakehouse met my high expectations! I loved all their different choices of seasonal flavors, too. They also have a variety of breakfast sandwiches, freshly baked cookies, muffins, pie, and packaged coffee for sale.
I can’t recommend this place enough, for locals and visitors alike! Scroll below to see more photos of the food and the space.
