I live in an area of Charleston called West Ashley, and every time I drive downtown (which is a lot) I cross a bridge and pass the Charleston City Marina. For the locals who have seen it every day for years and years, it might not seem that exciting, but it kills me every time. This Texas girl has never lived near a coast! Seeing all the boats and the sparkling water, especially at sunset, makes me absolutely giddy. I thought it was high time I took a closer look.
My photographer and I took a little stroll down the docks to check it out and it was so fun! Several sailors asked me if I was lost because we weren’t sure if pictures were allowed, so every time we saw someone we pretended like we were just looking at the boats (lol) pointing out things as if we knew what we were looking at. It reminded me of that scene from Failure to Launch where Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey are having lunch on that man’s boat and SJP talks about how the cherry was a little dark. Except, she actually knew what she was talking about and was just lying about why she was on the boat with Matthew but you get it.
Anyway, I’m definitely planning on going back to the marina when it’s warmer because Y’ALL it’s been freaking cold in Charleston. I was absolutely not ready for this! I thought Southern beach towns were always at least warm-ish, but man was I wrong. At least I got to add to my sweater collection. This comfy casual mustard sweater is a new favorite of mine, and I’m so in love with these exposed hem jeans.
Happy Monday, friends!
