It’s that time again, ya’ll, I’ve got another Foodie Friday post ya! When I first started doing these posts, I thought I would eventually have a hard time finding enough restaurants to keep this going once a week, but Charleston is absolutely STACKED with awesome places to eat! Plus, new places are opening all the time, so I have a feeling I won’t run into that problem any time in the near future.
This week, I decided to highlight a new spot on King Street, Pour Taproom. I would describe this spot as an indecisive person’s dream! There are walls of options for beer, wine, and cocktail lovers alike, and you pay by the ounce, NOT the glass, so you can try as many different drinks as you want. You know sometimes when you’re at a brewery and you don’t know which beer to order, so you ask to try, like, three and don’t like any? So, you just order whatever because you don’t want to annoy the server, and you have to drink a whole glass that you don’t even like? That issue is totally off the table here because it’s self-serve! I think it would be such a fun spot for a first date because it gives you something fun to do compared to the conventional sit-down restaurant.
If you come for the drinks, you’ll definitely post up and stay for the food. Not your average bar menu, Pour has an awesome menu of yummy dishes that I fell in love with. I especially was obsessed with the nachos and the chicken and waffles!
Scroll below to see the other menu items we tried, a visual of how the self-serve taproom works, and don’t miss the photos of the rooftop view at the end!
The Drinks
Like I said, it’s an indecisive person’s dream come true! Look at all these beers! Plus, we all have that one friend who doesn’t like beer, and they would be pleasantly surprised to see the selection of wine and cocktails available as well. I seriously can’t wait to bring some friends here to hang out soon!
The Food
The menu at Pour Taproom is so impressive! It’s a no-brainer spot for drinks, but definitely make time for bites or a full meal when you come by. We got to try some of their new menu items:
-Pour Nachos
-Vegetarian Arancini
-Blackened Shrimp Tacos
-Chicken and Waffles
The Space
The space at Pour Taproom is absolutely awesome! There aren’t many high rooftop bars in Charleston, especially ones with unobstructed views, but Pour has the most incredible outdoor patio with a beautiful view of CHS. Pro tip: Come in just before sunset so you can be settled with your drink and catch the gorgeous view.
The indoor space is also super cozy and relaxed. It has a bunch of big tables that are welcoming for large groups, and they also throw it back with a bunch of fun board games! Again, I think this place would be so fun for a first date. Nothing about Pour is boring!
Now that they have officially opened and the word is getting out, you should definitely stop in before it gets too crazy! I have a feeling Pour Taproom is going to be the new buzz-worthy spot on King Street!
